Design Workshop - 27th - 29th September @ Interplas

Located alongside the PDI (Plastic Design Intelligence) seminar theatre in Hall 4, the Design Workshop is a unique opportunity to discuss current product development issues with a panel of experts totally free of charge. All sessions are held in privacy and are strictly by appointment only. An hour has been allocated to each appointment.

How it works
The workshop will run in Hall 4, within Interplas, for the duration of the show.  If you have a project, or design issue which you think would benefit from a discussion with our panel of experts, simply check your preferred time is free (calendar below, if it is blank it is available) then email Mark Blezard with your preferred time and a brief description of the project and advice you are looking for. We will typically allocate one hour for this meeting, depending on the nature of the project.

It is your choice whether you provide details of your project or design issue in advance of the meeting.  Clearly if you do, the panel will be able to give it some thought rather than approach the problem "cold", and may influence who we put forward for the discussion. Nevertheless, if you feel more comfortable introducing your project on the day - this is your choice.

Goal of the Design Workshop
Reflecting the concept of the Engel Moulders' Group, the goal of the Design Workshop is to offer support to companies who have any project or current issue relating to product design.

Product design is not limited to injection moulded parts, and typical design issues for which we aim to offer help might include:
• Improvements to existing functional designs to add aesthetics and market appeal
• Solving functional design problems
• Tooling concepts, design for manufacture
• Ways of achieving cost reduction of a component or assembly
